As many as 45 million people are currently enslaved around the world. But the issue of human trafficking is often hidden from view, making it an underground and often underestimated global crisis.
Through an emotionally charged motion graphic sequence, Carl’s submission tells the story of a girl trafficked at the age of 17. Silhouetted figures fill a vending machine, illustrating the commoditised view of young women and girls in the sex trafficking industry, while our protagonist tells her story first-hand. The film makes an uncomfortable, graphic topic digestible, while providing a powerful call for its audience to support organisations such as End Slavery Now: an organisation that educates, inspires and equips people to put an end to human trafficking and slavery.
